Students/Associates Materials.

Dear Partner,

Kenya Students’ Christian Fellowship (KSCF) continues to serve God by impacting the lives of high school students throughout Kenya since 1959. We do this by leading students in secondary schools and colleges in Kenya to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, mature in Him and equip them for effective service, mobilize and empower Christian workers for effective service among the students. Being the umbrella body for all Christian Unions in secondary schools, we are currently reaching approximately 4,000 schools across Kenya.

By God’s grace, we were able to carry out the following activities and events for the year 2018. This could not have been possible without the faithful support of our partners and friends like you.

Ø  We held two (2) empowerment trainings for Peer to Peer (P2P) trainers in the month of February and August, 2018.

Ø  We carried out a Peer to Peer pilot in 200 selected schools in 30 Counties, out of which 183 schools successfully completed the pilot program. The testimony was very encouraging and we thank God for what He is doing through P2P.

Ø  KSCF leadership teams in the 44 Counties we are reaching increased from 163 to 215. The Plan this year is to train them through Associates training days.

Ø  In the month of April, we held our National convention from 9th -15th April, 2018 at Ngi’iya Girls, Siaya County where we trained 3,923 students and 400 associates on the Peer to peer model of ministry with the aim of empowering Christian students in high schools to holistically transform and positively influence their peers in schools and society. The model will be implemented at the school level where the students will be trained and equipped with basic skills which they can in turn pass on to their peers. The model is structured to run for 4 years, based on four pillars namely: Bible Study, Evangelism and Discipleship, Leadership Development and Christian Peer Counseling. The number of schools represented was 1,064.

Ø  The materials produced were 12,000 bible study guides, 5000 student magazines, 200 P2P pilot manuals and 5000 convention booklets which were all distributed in schools. The testimony we have is that the students are now doing bible study by themselves. The students have also greatly grown in character- a transformation as a result of Gods word.

Ø  We also carried out two (2) capacity building training for the KSCF field officers. The aim was to empower and build them for ministry.

Ø  By God’s grace we were also able to employ five Field Coordinators in the regions to coordinate the work with the objective of enhancing ministry.

Ø  In the month of August and December 2018, we held 18 and 27 County camps respectively. The camps were in different selected venues across the country. Through these camps over 11,000 students were reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory.

This sounded a very good reason, and Alice was quite pleased to know it. ‘I never thought.
